What is Compiled HTML Help (CHM Help)?

Is an online help format that was developed by Microsoft. It contains an index, HTML pages, hyperlinks and other tools. The files are deployed in a binary file with the .chm extension. Some files may be opened in a browser but others can only be opened by using a CHM viewer.
