What is External Documentation?

External documentation usually consists of user guides and sometimes includes a detailed description of the design and implementation features of the program. The documentation team usually develops external documentation for the customers. Concerning the difference between internal and external documentation, for example, internal documentation explains how the code works, and external documentation describes how to use it.
