Google Analytics

Google Analytics is one of the top freemium marketing tools for tracking and reporting website traffic. It can be integrated into a ClickHelp portal.

Google Analytics features a huge variety of possible metrics to analyze. Here is some key data you can track using this tool:

  • Visitors - its the number of people who visited your portal.
  • Content - Google Analytics allows evaluating which help topics are the most popular once. 
  • Average Time Spent on a Page - this metric will show you how much time readers spend on any topic on average.
  • Navigation paths, and much more.

Analysis of these metrics can greatly improve UX and SEO.

ClickHelp Google Analytics Integration

To connect your ClickHelp portal and your Google Analytics account, do the following:

  • Create a Google Analytics account if you don't have one here.
  • Get a Property ID from your Google Analytics account following these steps.
  • Go to Tools > Portal Settings... > SEO > Google Analytics
     
  • Check Enable Google Analytics Integration and Use Universal Analytics tracking code.

  • Add your Web Property ID to the corresponding field.
  • Click Save Changes.

Now, you will be able to find the corresponding statistics in your Google Analytics account. Note that the data will be gathered only for publications and the author views of the topics will be ignored.

ClickHelp Statistics

ClickHelp has its own built-in analytical tool that gathers statistics for each project. It helps tracking work progress.

You can find the stats link on the Dashboard page, right under your Project name.
