Translate Reader UI

Besides translating content and the Home Page, you may also want to translate different elements of the Reader UI like Search page elements, Login page, and so on. Currently, it's not possible to manually translate all these things, but ClickHelp offers ready translations of these elements into seven different languages:

  • German (de-DE)
  • Spanish (es-ES)
  • French (fr-FR)
  • Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR)
  • Chinese Simplified (zh-Hans)
  • Hindi (hi-IN)
  • Russian (ru-RU)

Language Detection Logic

While readers can switch the language manually by using the language switcher in the Reader UI, there's a certain degree of automation when it comes to presenting a reader with the appropriate language version of your portal.

The main factor that drives the interface language switching is the language of the content. If you're opening a link to a translation publication in German, the Reader UI will be displayed in German as well. This is intended to minimize situations where the UI is displayed in one language and the content in another, which can be perceived as a potential issue by your readers.

Since the content is not limited to the seven ready Reader UI languages, it can be in some other language the Reader UI has no translation into. In this case, the Reader UI will be displayed in the default Reader UI language, which you can set in the portal settings.
