A case study is a research method that includes a detailed examination of a study subject. It’s considered that Frederic Le Play was the first person who introduced the case-study method into a social science in 1829.
There are three types of case studies:
- Linear
- Process-oriented
- Grounded
These types of case studies include the following:
- Illustrative case studies.
- Exploratory case studies.
- Cumulative case studies.
- Critical instance case studies.
