Who is Editor?

An editor is a critical reader who checks and prepares the client’s texts. The editor usually polishes, refines and enhances them before they are available for the audience, so editors are like gatekeepers between the writer and audience. Technical writers usually work with technical editors to make their documentation better and easier to understand. Here are some other tasks that technical editors do:

  • Plan necessary resources for a project: content, money, time and so on.
  • Determine how suitable the documentation is for the target audience.
  • Coordinate the production of several documents that are written for one project.
