Cloud services represent special platforms or software managed by the third side and can be reached through the Internet. In other words, these are specially created infrastructure that obtains the functionality of supporting flows of data from the clients’ devices or servers to the provider’s system and vice versa.
The development of modern technologies allows us to get rid of any physical ways of saving and keeping information, providing the ability to have access to users’ data through the Internet. For this goal, cloud services are used. Now let us look at this digital structure by uncovering its purpose and advantages.
What is the Main Purpose of the Cloud Services?
As mentioned, these types of digital platforms and software are maintained by the side users or developers. The most common usage of these platforms is connected with saving and keeping users’ data. This way is considered one of the most effective and secure compared to keeping files in digital folders or on a physical carrier.
Moreover, cloud services are extremely useful for creating technical documentation as they allow to keep the information that is vital for any project (digital or non-digital) safe. These special areas of cloud services are called documentation cloud services.
Types of Cloud Services
The cloud services can be divided according to several criteria. First of them is the way of functioning, and through that, it is possible to divide them into:
- Infrastructure-as-a-Service – one of the main types that provide special digital resources for working with the necessary data, primarily networking and storage.
- Platforms-as-a-Service – a type that gives users special platforms and infrastructure so that they have full accessibility to the applications’ running process.
- Software-as-a-Service – the third type that gives a specific cloud application (software) along with the platform the application should work on. Moreover, it provides the infrastructure of the cloud product.
- Function-as-a-Service – a type that is represented by a special execution model. It allows app developers to create, edit and manage different app packages without the necessity of maintaining the “building” itself.
The second criterium that dictates the cloud services division is directly connected with the access to the service itself. Through that, we can distinguish:
- Private cloud services – the type that serves only for the end-user and that works only with the system they have.
- Public cloud services – this type was created not for a special user and not owned by them. The service itself can be easily redistributed to other people who pay for it.
- Hybrid cloud services – the type of cloud that obtains several cloud environments and may provide a good level of portability along with a good level of site management among these environments.
- Multi clouds – this type is represented by a special system that includes more than one service (private or public). These services (clouds) can be connected through a special network with the intention of cooperation, or they can also work separately.
