What is DOCX?

It’s a XML-based format of electronic documents. This file extension comes from Microsoft Word. In most cases, DOC files couldn’t be used with other types of word processors. So Microsoft created a new extension for electronic documents and changed DOC to DOCX. As DOCs, DOCX files can contain text, styles, images, formatting and so on.
