What is API?

API stands for application programming interface. It’s a communication interface definition that allows two applications to “talk” to each other. For example, when you send an instant message, use an app like Facebook, or check the weather on your phone, you’re using an API. Technical writers also create API documentation. Its content contains instructions about how to effectively use and integrate with an API. More details you can find here: API documentation.
